Sandstrom Dry Film Lubricant Industrial Coating Specifications

Sandstrom dry film lubricants are high performance industrial coatings consisting of very fine particles of lubricating pigments blended with a binder and other special additives. After application and proper curing, these lubricants bond to the surface of the part and form a solid film which reduces friction and greatly increases wear life. Many Sandstrom dry film lubricants also contain special rust inhibitors which offer exceptional corrosion protection in harsh environments.

Orion Industries has been applying Sandstrom Coatings for over 35 years and we are a Sandstrom Accredited Coatings Applicator.

These Sandstrom dry film lubricant coatings are excellent solutions to the problem of lubricating parts:

  • That will be operated in corrosive atmospheres.
  • That may be stored for long periods.
  • That are seldom lubricated once they leave the factory and permanent lubrication is desired.
  • Where operating pressures exceed the load-bearing capacities of ordinary oils and greases.
  • Where "clean operation" is desired (does not collect dirt and debris like grease and oils).
  • Where a protective coating and sacrificial break-in lubricant is needed.
  • Where fretting and galling is a problem (e.g., splines, universal joints, keyed bearings).
  • Where parts may be subjected to frequent disassembly.

Sandstrom 9A Dry Film Lubricant Additional Specifications

Sandstrom 9A dry film lubricant is a paint-like coating containing molybdenum disulfide and corrosion inhibiting pigments. This heat curing material prevents corrosion, galling, seizing and fretting. It is a low-friction coating which exhibits long wear life when operated at -320°F to +500°F under loads exceeding 100,000 psi. It offers excellent corrosion protection, chemical resistance and long wear life. Also use where easy release is desired (e.g., fasteners, PVC molds). Used in the automotive and commercial weapons industries.

Sandstrom LC-300 Dry Film Lubricant Additional Specifications

Sandstrom LC-300 is a lead free lacquer-like dry film lubricant coating containing molybdenum disulfide and corrosion-inhibiting pigments. This Heat Curing material prevents corrosion, galling, seizing and fretting. It is a low-friction coating that exhibits long wear life when operated at -320°F to +400°F under loads exceeding 100,000 psi. Also use where easy release is desired (e.g., acme nuts, screws, PVC molds) and where metallurgical properties are adversely affected by baking at temperatures higher than 300°F. Used in the automotive and commercial weapons industries.

Sandstrom #099 Dry Film Lubricant Additional Specifications

Sandstrom #099 dry film lubricant is a paint-like coating containing molybdenum disulfide and corrosion inhibiting pigments. This heat curing material prevents corrosion, galling, seizing, and fretting. It is a low-friction coating that exhibits long wear life when operated at -320°F to +500°F under loads exceeding 100,000 psi. Offers excellent corrosion protection, chemical resistance and wear life. Also use where easy release is desired (e.g., fasteners, PVC molds). Used in the automotive and commercial weapons industries.

Sandstrom #103 Dry Film Lubricant Additional Specifications

Sandstrom #103 contains molybdenum disulfide, PTFE and corrosion inhibiting pigments. This material prevents galling and provides unique wear properties, corrosion protection and exceptional chemical and fluid resistance. Sandstrom #103 can be applied to all metals. Used in the automotive industry; ideal for automotive starter shafts. Also use where easy release is desired (such as threads of all kinds).
