PPG/Whitford Consumer/FDA Coating Specifications
PPG (formerly Whitford) manufactures a wide range of non-stick coatings for consumer cookware and bakeware of all kinds, from frying pans to waffle makers to baking pans. These coatings offer excellent durability and abrasion resistance, and range from two-coats systems to reinforced three-coat systems.
Eclipse® Coating Specifications
Eclipse® coating for consumer bakeware is a two-coat system offering excellent abrasion resistance. It is an internally reinforced silicone polyester coating that can withstand up to 45,000 cycles of dry abrasion testing. It’s available in a variety of metallic colors and effects and can be applied to aluminum, aluminized steel, and carbon steel. It has a cure temperature of 550˚F and features a continuous use temperature of 450˚F.
Eclipse® for consumer cookware is a three-coat system engineered to meet the demands of gourmet and commercial kitchens. It is an internally reinforced PTFE coating that offers wear resistance for long-lasting performance, withstanding up to 60,000 cycles of wet abrasion testing and 60,000 cycles of release testing. It’s available in a variety of colors and can be applied to rolled, forged, cast and hard anodized aluminum, and stainless steel. It has a cure temperature of 780˚F and features a continuous use temperature of 500˚F.
Eterna® Coating Specifications
Eterna® for consumer cookware is a two-coat system with exceptional release and great wear resistance. Designed for gourmet cookware applications, it is an internally reinforced PTFE coating that delivers excellent non-stick performance and great scratch, wear and damage resistance. It can withstand up to as much as 70,000 cycles of release testing and 25,000 cycles of wet abrasion testing. It’s available in a variety of colors and can be applied to rolled, forged, cast and hard anodized aluminum, and stainless steel. It has a cure temperature of 780˚F and features a continuous use temperature of 500˚F.
QuanTanium® Coating Specifications
QuanTanium® for consumer cookware is a three-coat system reinforced with a unique blend of titanium particles. This internally reinforced PTFE coating offers a balance of performance and cost effectiveness, standing up to as much as 25,000 cycles of wet abrasion testing and up to 25,000 cycles of release testing. It’s available in a variety of colors and can be applied to rolled, forged, cast and hard anodized aluminum, and stainless steel. It has a cure temperature of 780˚F and features a continuous use temperature of 500˚F.
